The evaluation of evidence, standards and burdens of proof are by far most usual – and most difficult – problems of adjudication. Both judges and jurors rely too much upon their intuition, although theoretical penetration – that is lacking at many law schools – helps much in coping with these issues. The book deals also with relationship between facts and the legal language expressing the conditions of applying legal norms.
