This book will focus on the British efforts to promote their economic interests in Finland. During the 1960s, they tried to use political pressure in order to acquire commercial benefits. The Finns were reluctant to comply. A British diplomat wrote in 1963 that the British were not going to be successful unless "we were able to hit them and hit them hard where it hurts".
