Erudition and Eloquence

This volume explores the use of rhetoric in Latin texts produced in the countries of the Baltic Sea between the beginning of the sixteenth and the end of the eighteenth century. In that period, the Nordic and Baltic countries were members of the European res publica litterarum that transcended political and confessional borders, shared Humanist ideals and largely communicated in Latin.
