Ideophones and Sound Symbolism in Atlantic Creoles

All the languages of the world feature some type of sound symbolism. This study deals with a specific type of expressive language, ideophones, the occurrence of which is areally determined. It aims at a prototype definition of ideophones in both the Atlantic creole languages and their African substrate languages.
