The articles of this publication are based on the international expert seminar organized by the ICOMOS Finnish National Committee, the National Board of Antiques and docomomo Suomi Finland. The aim of the two day seminar that took place in October 2009 in Paimio, was to discuss the Paimio Hospital (architect by Alvar Aalto) as a nomination of the 20th century architecture in the World Heritage List. This publication aims at bringing light to the pathways of restoration thinking when dealing with the homogenous but complex Modern Movement heritage and especially the issues of integrity and authenticity.
