Theological Epistemology of Contemporary American Confessional Reformed Apologetics

This study provides an account of the major apologetical schools of thought which have important contemporary relevance in conservative Calvinist theology and philosophical theology. The author examines the positions of classical evidentialism and dogmatic presuppositionalism. At the center of this discussion are the various decisions these positions of the defense of the faith have taken regarding epistemology. The author critically discusses the strengths and weaknesses of these positions in relation to their understanding of truth, knowledge, epistemic justification and religious language, in the context of traditional and confessional Reformed theology.
