Ten Years of American Studies

The University of Helsinki's Bicentennial Chair of American Studies was established jointly by the University and the U.S. government in 1976. In recent years this program has greatly accelerated teaching and research in American Studies, not only in Helsinki but at other Finnish universities as well. This book commemorates the first decade of the program. It contains reminiscenses and articles by both the former bicentennial professors and their coleagues and students in Finland.
