Sigurd Frosterus – Art as an Attitude

Art as an attitude provides an insight into a life devoted to art. The multifaceted, gifted critic, essayist, art historian and collector Sigur Frosterus´s tentacles spread across a broad range of activities in art, architecture and the humanities. He was one of the major exponents of the new French painting and modern European rationalist architecture in Finland. His post-impressionist art collection was a direct extension of his conception of art. The collection grew over several decades and was one of the most significant private art collections in Finland in its day.
