È sempre un po’ un fiducioso azzardo aggiungere un numero ad un titolo, perché non si può sapere se effettivamente dopo un “I” possa mai seguire un “II” o magari un “III”: questo pensavo quando alcuni anni fa, e precisamente il 4 e il 5 dicembre del 2008, accoglievo a Napoli amici, colleghi e studenti per un incontro, i cui risultati sono nel volume Il Mediterraneo e la storia: epigrafia e archeologia in Campania, letture storiche, dato alle stampe dall’editore Luciano nel 2010. Prevalse allora la prudenza e il numerale non comparve in copertina.
